Free rider assessment with every enquiry
Willow came to me two years ago from a lovely family whose daughter had sadly outgrown him at 5’4″. He arrived a little green around the edges but with the biggest heart, and it took him about ten minutes to become the yard favourite.
He’s now nine years old, a proper Welsh Section C in every way – that classic skewbald coat, kind eye, sturdy little frame, and the sort of temperament you rarely see. He’s brave without being sharp, forward without being strong, and genuinely enjoys his job.
Willow is looking for a Pony Club family with a confident C or C+ rider who wants to go on and do a bit of everything. He would suit a rider who’s ready to step up from their first pony – a partnership that could genuinely take them all the way through their Pony Club years.
Willow is the sort of pony you’d trust with your child. He’s genuine, honest, and has a real desire to please. He is never sharp, spooky, or unpredictable. On the ground he’s an absolute gentleman – easy to catch, tie up, shoe, clip and load.
He’s brave but not silly. In a busy warm-up ring or at a spooky combination he’ll take a second, breathe, and then get on with it. That’s the temperament that makes the difference between a pony that scares confidence away and a pony that builds it.
Willow is up to date on vaccinations, worming, and dentistry. Farrier every 6 weeks. He’s a good doer – lives out summer, part-stabled winter, on a maintenance ration with hay. No vices, no lameness history. Full 5-stage vetting welcomed on the yard.
